Our take

The Hoosier RCES is perfect for track enthusiasts who need top-tier dry grip and handling response. However, its low treadwear rating and lack of a warranty mean frequent replacements, which can be costly over time.

Pros

Dry grip score of 8 significantly exceeds the ultra-high performance summer category average of 4.7, making it a strong choice for spirited driving.
Handling response matches its dry grip at 8, providing precise control and feedback for aggressive cornering.
Noise level of 6.5 is above the category average of 3.7, which is surprisingly quiet for this performance level.

Cons

The extremely low treadwear rating of 40 means you'll be replacing these tires frequently, raising the overall cost of ownership.
Wet grip score of 5 lags behind competitors like the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, which could impact performance in rainy conditions.
No treadwear warranty is offered, which means you'll need to budget for replacements sooner than with some rivals.
Treadwear rating of 40 is extremely low, indicating a very short lifespan compared to the category average of 935.
