Who we are
Everything on the site is published by Tirescouter Editorial. We aren't owned by or affiliated with any tire manufacturer, and no brand or retailer can pay for a tire's score or position. We do earn commissions from some retailer links, as explained below.
Where our data comes from
Tire data comes from manufacturer specifications and the federal UTQG grades for treadwear, traction and temperature. Vehicle data comes from factory tire-size records for each trim, front and rear.
The spec score is an estimate built from five manufacturer specs: UTQG treadwear, traction and temperature grades, mileage warranty and speed rating. It isn't a road-test result. Written analysis of a tire model is by Tirescouter Editorial with AI assistance, based on the tire's specs. We label estimates as estimates wherever they appear, and our methodology page explains the score in full.
What we don't do
- We don't show dollar prices. Some pages show a relative price tier ($ to $$$), and retailer links let you check current prices at the store.
- We don't run road tests or any other physical tire tests.
- We don't show owner reviews, star ratings or review counts.
- We don't accept payment from brands for scores, rankings or placement.
How the site is funded
Tire Scouter is free to use. We earn a commission when you buy through some retailer links, currently from Amazon Associates, the eBay Partner Network and Mavis Tire (through CJ). Commissions never change a spec score or which tires we list. Full details are in our affiliate disclosure.
